Additionally, this update also includes an optical low-pass filter vibration that works to gently shake the dust from the low-pass filter on and off.

Another cool touch is the drive sensor that will change the LCD display from portrait to landscape depending on the orientation of the camera. The D60 also added data to help imprint the date and time stamp photos as well. While the D40 is the update feature D40x's 10.2 megapixel vs 6.1, the D60 comes standard with 10.2.These are just some of many updates and improvements that Nikon has decided to include in this package the next generation of their people People Badon friendly line.The major drawback for the D60 was the price.

The $ 550 + price tag is a bit 'expensive for what it offers compared to other models on the market. Another drawback is that the lens-based stabilization is not quite at the level of displacement sensor, which is currently offered my other competitors.
